Katrina Neumann is a business litigator with experience in state and federal courts and has managed through all phases and favorably resolved cases, in diverse areas of commercial, lending, real estate, construction and legal malpractice.

She has been a key member of trial teams which achieve these results:

• Obtained a multi-million-dollar jury verdict in the County Superior Court, in favor of plaintiff who purchased interests in a San Clemente beach lot from the defendants (father, son, and an LLC), who had concealed material information from the plaintiff. The jury found in favor of the plaintiff, and against defendants, for fraud, negligent misrepresentation, aiding and abetting fraud and Penal Code Section 496, including a punitive damages award against all defendants. Ms. Neumann was second chair at this trial and questioned multiple key witnesses, including one of the defendants.
• Directed Verdict obtained in an unlawful detainer jury trial, which was tried in the Orange County Superior Court. Ms. Neumann was second chair at this trial and represented the owner and the tenant for a sprawling, multi-million-dollar property against guests/licensees who refused to vacate the property. Ms. Neumann was second chair at this trial and helped prepare the motion for directed verdict that was ultimately granted.
• Obtained a unanimous $6.3 million jury verdict in favor of a bank and against its guarantors in a breach of guaranty case which was tried in the Orange County Superior Court. The guarantors presented an “unclean hands” defense which was rejected by the jury. Ms. Neumann was part of this trial team and conducted crucial research that resulted in the exclusion of the only expert witness retained by the defendant guarantors.

Education

Ms. Neumann received her B.A. degree in International Studies from California State University, Long Beach, where she graduated cum laude. She received her J.D. degree from Chapman University, Dale E. Fowler School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. During law school, Ms. Neumann was a member of the ADR competition team and participated in the mediation clinic as a certified mediator.
